For a number of years Prof. Celin has worked as part of a team from the University of Virginia Department of Plastic Surgery to help the under privileged in India. The work covers many different procedures ranging from cleft palates, club foot to easing the suffering of burns victims. The work normally takes place over an intense 10-14 day period each year in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

The aim of the Celin Foundation is to help the people of Nepal in areas such as: medical assistance, housing, employing, education and professional formation. The Foundation is non profit.

The aim of the Celin Foundation (not for profit) is to help the people of Nepal with medical assistance, housing, employment, education and professional support.
Prof. John Celin is the Medical Director of the Khalte Clinic in the mountains of North-West Nepal. The clinic was established by the Ghurka to help a population of nearly 40,000 people.
